The Shirtless Plantain Show is a football dictatorship inspired by Nigerian heritage and fueled by banter.

Founded during Africa’s first World Cup win in 2018, The Shirtless Plantain Show’s mission is to provide a distinctive view of the sport as it expands in America. As people who grew up playing, living and breathing the sport across a variety of cultures, we offer a distinct and largely irreverent view of the game.

The ‘Shirtless Plantain’ moniker is an inside joke shared between every human that can trace their origins to any location within 5 hours north or south of the equator. We strive to play in between the lines of pop and soccer culture via our authentic and unique perspectives. The ultimate goal is to make you understand why football is not only fun, but also why the sport matters so much to so many - whether you like plantains or not.

The Shirtless Plantain Show covers a wide range of topics, leagues, and happenings in the world each week. In addition, we produce a podcast and weekly music playlist on Spotify. We will consider brand partnerships that align with The Shirtless Plantain Show’s vision.
